friday night we had womens night of worship at our church with ashley welburn... she is an amazing woman of God with a beautiful voice... i could listen to her all night long... i am s sucker for some good ole praise and worship... after she spoke we had dessert and coffee... it was a great night! me and ashley welburn
Several of us were in charge of helping that night... one of our duties was to "re-stock" the food which is why i have about 3 pictures b.c i was running around being "hostess with the mostess" with all my buddies and found little time for picture taking... sadleigh ann...looking like a pro...
we think you have a cheesecake factory waitress in your future! :)melissa, me, and kimberlyCheck out the flowers... are they gorgeous or what? our talented friend leah pennington whipped this out... i thought they were so pretty and springy!
what a great night with friends... i love all my church girls so much... i am so thankful for all of them... if you don't have a group of church girls to love on you, support and pray for you I strongly recommend you get plugged into one... b.c i am certainly thankful for mine! :)
saturday we started the day off with none other than baseball... my nephew played that morning so we went to go see him play his first t-ball game... i just love how little these little guys are and how big their uniforms are... so precious... oh and how clueless they are... it is too cute!then jackson had a game... thank goodness it was MUCH better than the first game... he was the first batter and i was a nervous wreck... i think we all were... all i could do was pray... lord please let him hit the ball... a dinker to the pitcher... anything...all he needed was a little confidence... and praise God he hit it... and got on base... and hit it all the other times and had a great game and they WON! yeah...
here's his biggest fan!up to bat...base running... it was a much better day at the park for us... thank goodness!

Baseball....

Last Night Richard and Jackson had their first baseball game. I am not going to lie... it was rough!
Gone are the days when it was all fun and cute and they did not know if they won or lost and all they cared about was the snack at the end of the game.
Jackson struck out ALL FIVE times he got to bat... let me just say this has NEVER happened and I felt so sorry for him. He hit a home run (almost 2) on Saturdays "practice game". But last night he was so nervous, anxious, excited etc... that he could not even hit the ball... his timing was so off it was TERRIBLE! What made it even worse was that he knew he struck out that many times. We tried to be so positive after the game because he was so down on himself... and the very first thing he told me after the games was "Mommy I struck out all 5 times"... bless his heart. He told Richard after the game "Daddy I am so sorry I struck out all 5 times I got up to bat"... poor guy! I just wanted to cry for him! Hopefully the first game "jitters" are out and he can be back to him normal hitting self on Saturday!
On the flip side he played an awesome game defensively. He is playing short stop and got several out at second base and tagged a runner out as well. We tried to keep talking about what a great game he played in the field so he would "forget" about his strike outs. We told him it happens to the "real" baseball players all the time. I don't think anything we could have said was going to make it any better. He told me today on the way to school "I was going to write about my baseball game in my journal but I don't think I am... it is not fun to write about striking out and loosing"... Poor guy! You know I used to think watching t-ball was the most boring thing in the world... but after last night I think my nerves could take a few t-ball games. I think it is safe to say Jackson got his competitive side from his mommy... i hate to loose... even at tic tac toe... and Jackson was so sad last night when they lost and even more sad that he "played bad".
Here's hoping Saturday is a much better day on the field for him! :-)

Spring Break Adventure # 4

Friday we look Jackson and Brylee to Six Flags for the first time. We met three other families over there too. The kids had a BLAST and they will ride anything they were tall enough to ride.
Waiting to head into the park...
The first ride we rode was the Georgia Cyclone. Brylee face was priceless her eyes were so big during the ride... they were brave and rode it and loved it! Then we went to ride the Run Away Mind Train... mild compared to the first ride... Heading over to ride the Mind Binder we stopped to let them ride the swings... brylee loves the swings...
After lunch they danced with all the characters... the loved doing the Cha Cha Slide and the Hoe Down Throw Down with them... After lunch the dad's took the kids to the kiddie park to ride some rides and the moms went to ride the Superman... that ride was AWESOME... you "fly" on your belly the whole time. It was Fun!jackson, cole, brylee, adam (anthony was on another ride)
This was about the time all the families split up some went home b.c there kids would not ride any of the rides... they were "scared" but not ours they rode it all...
brylee and i on the scream machine...
jackson (with his hands up) and daddy
brylee and daddy on the sky buckets
me and jax on the sky buckets
we ran into batman in Gotham City..

This was right before the park closed and we went to ride the Mind Binder... that was both of there favorite rides... I really was SHOCKED they liked it b.c it goes upside down twice... jackson and I rode it first, them we talked brylee into riding it and we all three rode it 2 more times.

We had a great time... the kids loved every ride and were not scared of any of them... we were proud of them for being so brave!

We had a great Spring Break from the beach, to fun times at home, to atlanta and six flags! Jackson told me he was going to have to write 3 pages in his journal at school on Tuesday b.c he had some much fun on Spring Break! :)

Spring Break Adventure #3

Thursday morning we left and headed to Atlanta. We arrived around lunch time and ate at one of our favorite spots; The Varsity! We eat here at least once a year and they kids love it!
Got to get a Varsity hat when you walk in...
and ice cream for dessert
and a photo outside for mommy!
After we left lunch we went to a place I have read about on many blogs but have never been to and really did not know anything about it and really unsure what to expect.... IKEA (i-key-uh) This place was WAY cool. It is a HUGE furniture, housewares, everything, store. The prices are very reasonable and everything it new. Another cool thing about the store is they have a kiddie play area that you can check your kids in and let them play for an hour while you shop. Our kids loved it... they did not want to leave when their time was up. There favorite part was the HUGE ball pit. We bought Jackson a super cute red night stand for his room for $7.99... we also found an very nice large wall unit entertainment center book shelf thingy we want for downstairs for $250. Their furniture was very nice very "pottery barnish", couches we about $300... they had whole rooms (furniture, lamps, tables, etc) you could get for $1000. The place was HUGE... so needless to say our hour was flying by and we were walking rather fast just to "see" it all... not really even shop just to look. We could have spent hours in the place... we are planning to go back soon (without the kids) to shop some more. My mom can't wait to go... i told her that place was right up her ally she loved places like that! If you have never been you should make it a point to go... especially if you are in the need for any furniture. After IKEA we checked in the hotel and let the kids swim... they are all about an indoor pool! That night we went to Dave and Buster's another favorite for our family. It is a huge arcade, chucky cheese type place but better and more fun for the adults! The kids had a ball playing all the games and winning lots of tickets so they could get more "junk"! After all the fun of the day we headed back to the hotel to settle in and get some rest before we headed to Six Flags the next day!

Spring Break Adventure #1

This week is Spring Break for daddy and the kiddos. So we went on our first Spring Break Adventure to the beach for a day. We "planned" our last minute trip Friday afternoon and could not leave until Sunday after Brylee's Cheer leading competition and we had to be back Tuesday for work and baseball. We went to visit my nannie who lives there and stayed with her and went to the beach Monday. We enjoyed the sun, sand, and seafood. The weather down there was really nice... unlike here. Even though our trip was short and sweet we had a great time and it sure was nice to see the sun and enjoy some warm weather. A nice change from the flooding and cold weather we have experienced here for the last week or so.
yeah we are at the beach...
Sunday night after dinner we went to The Wharf
the kids and I rode the ferris wheel... they loved being at the top...and enjoyed some dippin dots afterwards... a beach tradition Monday after breakfast we went to the beach for about 3 hours. The kids could not grasp the concept that it was not "summer"... going to the beach in clothes perplexed them... finally when we got there and they felt the freezing cold water and realized the wind was cool... they knew why we did not have on bathing suits. However there were plenty of college kids out on the beach in the tiny winy bikinis... but i think they had some "liquid courage" to warm them up! Oh the things you do in college!!
testing the waters....
they had a great time playing in the sand and building sand castles... brylee loved filling her buckets with water and pouring it on the sand...this entertained her for hours... jackson and daddy enjoyed playing baseball...
and football...
and running around the beach... for lunch we went to eat at the hangout...After lunch we went back to the beach for a little while...
and then we went to the Trak on our way out...we rode go carts... the girls beat the boys :) and then the kids drove the kiddie carts and played video games... our last stop was Stacy's Pharmacy for ice cream...
We had tons of fun on our little mini beach vaca... stay tuned for more Spring Break Adventures!
