Honey Do Weekend...

We were very productive this weekend at our house... got some of the home improvements checked off the honey do list! :) First on the list was re-staining our front door... you can see in this picture our front door; which gets baked by the sun; was beginning to look like a brown door with cream polka dots...well who knew that with a $10 small can of stain/polyurethane mix and some elbow grease our front door would look this good?I am so excited because it looks so much better... this was with only one coat of stain... we plan to take it down next weekend and add another coat with hopes that it will last longer than 4 years. Now all I need is the cute fall wreath I saw at the florist in mt. laurel... Well who remembers this project we have had going on for way to long... but life just gets busy and it seems like now things have settled down and we plan to devote the next few weekends with hopes to get our little project finished.... So we cleaned the rooms, walls, and floors really good and then start this...We finished painting the small room (which will be the kids playroom) and hopefully we can paint and put up the window facing, shelf, and molding next weekend... it already looks so much better... and starting to look more like a room... yeah!!!! we also painted the "hallway" i guess that is what you call it... now all we need is a few door facings and molding in here and we will be done with this "room" too... and remove the shop vac and spot light too... ha! :)We have not started painting the "big room" yet... we want to finish the other rooms first and then start painting there... It has been a long time since we have painted... thankfully when we built our current house they painted all the rooms for us...
while RP and I were down their painting it brought back memories of our first house... we bought my grandmothers 1970's house and we painted EVERY.ROOM.IN.THE. HOUSE!!!!
(some of them twice)... i forgot how much "fun" painting is! :)
It feels good to have a productive weekend and I am so glad we are checking things off our list and I am also glad my tigers won last night and my "painter" was glad the tide won as well... he was not a happy painter there for a while!
Hope you all have a great week!!! Be back soon with a flashback photo... just in case you ever thought my brylee did not look JUST like me... well i have found some serious proof... i can no longer deny her! ha! :)

Busy Week...

Holy Busy Week Batman!!!!! This week we have had.... - no home cooked meals - no early bed times - no husband/daddy home before 1opm... thank you football & DC trip - LOTS of single parenthood... which i am not a fan of Although it has been busy we have had a fun week... - Brylee went on her first outing with a friend... sweet abbie invited her to the ball game monday night so she could see all her friends cheer and play football... she had a BLAST... (long story on why brylee isn't cheering at the moment... lets just say it was not my choice or hers and she will be cheering for basketball soon) ... thanks sweet leisha for the picture... i think they could win the tallest and shortest competition...what do you think? no one would believe they are only 2 months apart
- Brylee also had her first after school playdate... she went to abbie's house last week so this week we had abbie to our house... they had a great time playing together... and jackson had a great time antagonizing them... got to love a brother... - tonight was the first home game for the chelsea middle school football team... so brylee and i went to support jackson and daddy... - can i tell you how much i love that my little guy gets to be involved with this team... because of his involvement with CHMS he is not playing "real football" and that makes this mommy real happy! - he gets so excited when they score a touchdown... you would think he really played on the team... look at his precious little face!

- he takes his job VERY seriously...

- my little water boy and all the coaches (and daddy) that are so nice to him... coach B gets him off the bus at the intermediate school on game days and they let him eat the pre-game meal, go to study hall and actually do his homework with him... he gets to be "one of the team" and he loves every ounce of it! - i love that these middle school football players are so kind to him... they play with him, speak to him when they see him around "town", let him run through the sign before the game with them, and you can see here they let him lead the "good game line" at the end of the game... such fine young men taking such good care of my little man! ( i know they are no dummies no one is going to be mean to a coaches kids ha! :)) - he thinks he is one of the team and I guess to him he is... he hangs on every word these coaches say... he can tell you everything they say at the post game huddle... i love to watch his teeny tiny self run all around and be in the mist of this big ole bunch a boys... We had a great week just a busy one... i am thankful tomorrow is friday. I have a shopping date planned with my mom tomorrow night and I have a honey do list for my honey to do this weekend... i know he is going to be thrilled! Wishing you all a TGIF and have a great weekend! ps... head on over to blue eyed bride she is giving away a BBTN outfit... and if you have never read her blog you should start... she is just too cute and i enjoyed "talking" (aka emailing) with her over the last few weeks getting our sponsorship and giveaway details handled... she was such a pleasure to work with! thanks erin!

Football, Family, and a First....

Saturday we headed down to the loveliest village on the plains... auburn b.c i wanted to see this... this is about as close as we could get....and the best picture i could get of good ole kurt
the camera was right in the way of his cute little face...
i will say i was a little disappointed in the set up o f game day... it is so hard to see everything... it is way different on TV...this is the stage where the guys talk but you can barely see them for all the cameras and crew and then behind them is where all the fans are with the signs...if you want to "get on TV" you have to be behind them and then you can't even see them or hear what they are saying... you have to watch it on a big screen... it is kind of weird...
jackson in front of the bus...
then we walked down to where ESPN U was...
the kids enjoyed playing the bean bag game... and they got them some airbrush tattoos... after checking out of all gameday we walked around campus and get some pictures...
That was about all the heat we could stand... it was SO HOT... we were all dying... we were going to eat at Mama G's but it was so HOT outside we were done walking around and were ready to get back in the car with the A/C on full blast and head back to Granny and Pap Pap's.
Saturday we also celebrated Granny's birthday! Due to the fact that it was so HOT the kids put on their bathing suits on and swam in the lake to cool off...
Jackson skied behind the waver runner...
and all the girls rode the rocket... then olivia bailed and jackson rode... we gave granny an alabama ribbon wreath for her birthday... i know the best birthday present granny got was having all 5 of her grandkids down to celebrate her birthday... we don't get to see olivia much... (olivia, katie, granny, jackson, brylee and zac on the floor) poor katie and her shiner she got when she hit her eye on the wave runner when she jumped off.... bless her heart!
Happy Birthday Granny!
Today Miss Brylee had a big first.... she learned to ride her bike without training wheels. She has been wanting to take her training wheels off all summer but we really just don't have the best place for her to learn to ride... we have practiced a few times riding jackson's bike around the driveway but that is it... well today she talked her grandaddy into taking her training wheels off and "teaching" her to ride her back.... well it turned out that he took her training wheels off and she showed US how SHE could ride her bike without training wheels. She just took off! Grandaddy had to give her a little lesson on how to use the breaks to stop instead of just running into something or putting her feet down but other than that she was pretty much good to go!
Way to Go Brylee Girl! She is SO PROUD of herself!of course brother had to ride his bike like a wild man...
buzzing around her and fly up and down the hill
I am just glad we came away with no major wrecks or big ole boo boo's... the kids have school pictures on thursday and I was so worried someone was going to have a wreck and have a big ole battle wound for pictures but thankfully they did not! :)
We had a great weekend and we hope you did too! Super glad the Auburn Tigers pulled out a win over Clemson... what a great game to watch... but my heart breaks for that poor team who played so hard... that poor quarterback who played hurt and that poor kicker who missed the kick. Bless his heart!
I have a special place in my heart for these guys that have to be "the game winner" and especially their poor parents. I know jackson is only 7 but i thought back to his all star game this summer... when the game was tied, bases loaded, and there were 2 outs... he came to bat and had to hit the game winning run in... the pressure that was on him just about killed me... and it was ONLY 7 year old baseball... no comparison to the pressure and situation that the poor kicker for clemson was in but i atleast felt like i could relate... my oh my how my perspective has changed over situations like this since i have become a mom to an athlete.
Wishing you all great week and if anyone sees fall weather around... tell him I am READY!

Nations Outfitters

Have you ever heard of Nations Outfitters?
Well me neither until last week when the super cute Kristin P came to work for us and she was wearing a shirt from this company. So I came home, did a little google search and low and behold found the website and started drooling! They have tons of super cute stuff but I am in love with these 4 shirts! This might be my favorite of them all... and i am drooling over this girls hair too... why can't mine look like that? These next 2 shirts are a close second... i can't really decide which one i like best??? This is the one KP had on... you can't really see it that well in this picture b.c of the way the model is turned but go to their website and they have it on a monacan... i think it is so cute! And i am in love with this top too... minus the little scarfy thing... that would just get in my way ALL. DAY. LONG!!! not crazy about the white jeans paired with it either but on the website monacan they have it paired with jeans... looks so cute!!! I know sleeveless but i think it would be cute with a jean jacket. and lastly i think this little number is super cute too... how cute is that with jean legging... and i think you could put a long sleeve tee under right??They also donate 5% of their sales to Habitat for Humanity... i thought that was pretty cool!!!! Well, what do you think??? I am in LOVE! Please allow me to excuse myself while I go and water my money tree I planted in the backyard... no really I don't think their prices are bad at all and I think they have such cute stuff... i love the black shirt too... but I have WAY TO MUCH BLACK... i am trying to branch out and get a new color and it looks like it is gray... is gray the new black? Happy Shopping! :)

Chelsea Football....

tonight we went to the chelsea high school football game... it was their first home game of the season... so we decided to go out and support the hornets and watch them play shelby county! and i am glad we did... they beat shelby county 33-0 and it was a great win for chelsea... makes for a 3-0 season... i was also very impressed with the crowd... gone are the days where the whole town shuts down and everyone in the community is at the football games... sad to say but it is true... richard talks about when he played it was standing room only and everyone came to the game whether you had a son playing or not... you came b.c you knew someone who did play... it is not really like that any more... but tonight the hornets had a great crowd to cheer them on... i know their success this season helps out but people were parking all up and down hwy 11 b.c all the parking around the school was full... it was a great win for the hornets! Hubs and I are talking about going to the game next Friday night... on a date...chelsea plays my alma mater... good ole briarwood next week and they are ranked 5th in the state... it has been a very long time since I have been back to my old stomping grounds for a game... ummm who should i cheer for???

Labor Day Weekend....

we had a great labor day weekend....
we spent the weekend at the lake and it was full of
Fun, Family, Friends, Food, Football, and Fellowship
brylee girl loves to ride "butterfly" the horse swing...
jackson man enjoyed playing football with the boys...ready for the alabama game.... super proud of his and granny's alabama cake... miss priss was proud of hers and grannys coco krispy footballs... i must say they sure were cute and yummy too... we enjoyed every possible moment out on the water.... this will probably be it for the lake until next summer... they will start pulling the water fast after labor day...the kids love to ride the waverunner...and this little monkey decided on the last weekend of the summer.... she was BRAVE enough to ride the rocket... she smiled the whole time and loved every minute of it! last ride of the rocket until next year for brylee pooh showing off his last moves on the skis.. going outside the wake and all.... after stuffing our faces with ribs, all the sides, and ice cream we went out on the boat.... for a "three hour cruise"... and did not come in until sunset and it was beautiful... We also enjoyed time with our friends... we rode over to see the franklin's and davis' at their parents lake house and our ball park buddies came to visit too... (sadly we missed gray... he was home sick)... but the kids had a BLAST on the "water jumpy thing"... jp wanted to make it across this without falling so bad... he almost did it but fell off... he said he was on the show "wipe-out"
he loved doing cannon balls off the high deck....the mr. ray took out the sea doo and yanked them around the lake on the tube...
anthony and jackson
jackson, anthony, and kamilla his "teen age sister"...
really kamilla is an exchange student from norway
who is staying this whole school year with the franklin's
she is really cool and i love talking to her...
brylee, walker and jackson
anna lee opted for the "calmer" tube ride...
all the kiddos had a such a good time playing together...
well that is all for summer... it is officially over... it is pretty much over when school starts but now it is really over... we had a great weekend and we hope you did too! :)
