Blogpress...

Blogpress where have you been all my life?? I feel like I just got the BEST Christmas present ever... for a whopping $2.99!!! Did you know that you could download the Blogpress app and do blog posts from your iPhone and include pictures??? I know shut the front door right!!! And if you knew this already and did not tell me... Well you are in the dog house!! ;) So here is a big ole random post full of iPhone pictures... All of them from instagram (if you don't have that app well you should in my opinion) bc that is another obsession of mine too... I love all the different "filters"!!!


Sister was a brave little one at the dentist (she HATES the dentist) so her reward was THE BIGGEST shaved ice from Snow Shak!


My dinner dates one night!!!


The kiddos went by the store with me one Sunday for an hour or so and they wanted a snack so I let them go to the little grocery store for a snack and this is what they came back with... Really there own pints of ice cream??? You would think there daddy was NOT the ice cream man or something???


Sisters new do and her big ole bows that I am slightly obsessed with... Yes I know they are a wee bit obnoxious but I love them any way!


We love riding bikes or razerquads in this case in the afternoons after school especially on cooler afternoons!


How cute are these dirt cake pots with gummy worms? My friend Jill is all too creative... This was her sons "birthday cake" last week at his birthday party! Wow! That sure was cool, fun and easy! the hamster wheel and the amazing race....

the two things that describe my life right now:

a hamster wheel and the amazing race...

i am running in my hamster wheel just trying to keep up...

hoping it doesn't throw me out...

i run in my wheel starting a 6 every morning...

and finally i fall out of my wheel around 11...

just to get up and do it all over again tomorrow...

sigh....

school is kicking the powers household in the tail...

i knew i was not ready for summer to end...

but wow... it did and it caught me by surprise...

no one is loving getting up at 6:20am...

everyone is ill and tired in the afternoons...

third grade homework is rough...

three test on friday,

20 spellings words a week,

math sheets, DOG, the list goes on... plus reading 20 minutes every night...

gezzz i thought we went to school for 7 hours a day...

sister is having the roughest time...

she got moved to pink last week...

normally she would be ecstatic about that...

b.c it is her favorite color...

but this time it was not a good thing...

she got a note sent home for talking...

and it CRUSHED her little spirit...

we did not even have to discipline her...

she took care of that herself...

she is so hard on herself...

she cried herself to sleep at bed time...

b.c she did not want to go to school the next day...

i took her to school that morning so she could sleep a little longer...

of course she came home with an awesome day...

but she still talks about being on PINK...

she cried saturday b.c it was one day closer to monday..

she cried sunday b.c tomorrow was monday... it breaks my heart...

she is my one who loves school...

but not right now...

what to do, what to do...

gosh this side of the fence is SO HARD...and as her picture shows...

she is still scared! :(

(but a least she has monogrammed clothes on)

and i run the amazing race as well...

to school,

to work,

the grocery,

the dentist, football,

cheerleading practice,

open house,

church,

the list goes on

and

on

and

on

and we are about to add baseball to this list too...

on me oh my!!!!

and some where on this list is

cook,

clean house,

laundry,

etc....

we will survive...

we always do...

come november we will be board...

b.c there is nothing to do...

no place to go...

getting back into a new normal just takes time...

change is hard...

but until then we will keep running in our hamster wheel

and running in our amazing race...

hopefully there is a fast pass coming soon!

Today's the First Day of School.....

Remember Nemo... today's the first day of school, today's the first day of school...

well today was the first day of school for my two babies... one in third grade and one in first... WOW! is all i can say???

Jackson chose to ride the bus this morning... he is all about his friends on the bus... he let me take my picture and that was it... off he went to the bus stop... bye mom... is about all i got...

Brylee chose for me to take her to school... she was having a hard time the night before with some nervous jitters and a little this morning too. She was wanting me to walk her in this morning but she is a "clinger" and i had this fear of me getting in her room and she wanting one more hug, no mommy don't leave, watch me do this... etc so i talked her into us keeping GoGo on speaker phone and us "all" going through the car rider line and her telling us both bye... she bought my suggestion and it worked marvelously! :) I got a little teary eyed when she got out and walked into school... i think i said something like "there she goes" when i was talking to my mom... but we just talked and i was ok! Brylee girl gets me everytime... i guess it's just girls! Then I was off to boo-hoo breakfast at Burger King with all my mommy friends! :) She was all into the pictures unlike her brother... she is super excited about her messenger bag with her peace sign... I think this was the S-L-O-W-E-S-T day i could not wait for them to get home and hear all about their day! Finally it came and here they come.... I always make them a special snack on the first day of school... they even ask if i had them a surprise inside for snack... i love doing things like this... i hope they remember this tradition!

I promise i love jackson and he had a great day too... he is just not into all the picture like B is! He said lunch, PE, and recess where his favorite parts of the day... well of course they were... he is ALL BOY!

I think you could say the first day of school was a success at our house! :-)

Meet the Teacher....

We went to meet the teacher twice this week! :) Monday we met Jackson's teacher Mrs. Richardson... she seems really sweet and he has a few friends in his room too! We are looking forward to a great 3rd grade year... he is the "senior class" at his school this year...i can't believe how am i old enough to have a 3rd graders????

Tuesday night we met brylee's teacher

Brylee is so excited about school starting... she is ready freddy... and she got her a sassy new hair cut too... low maintenance and less tangles! ha :) First Grade are you ready for Brylee?

b.c she is ready for you!!!!!

She was a little bummed about her teacher at first b.c she did not get Jackson's first grade teacher; which was also one of her sunday school teachers and several of her church friends did. She also did not have a BFF in there either.... BUT when we saw her room and meet her teacher she was SOLD! She went on and on about how cute it is... only a girl like brylee would care and she loved that her teacher was young and was dressed cute! ha! :-) again only brylee would care... so i have no dought she is right where she needs to be! Oh the difference between boys and girls... jackson could not tell you what was in his room or if his teacher even had clothes on... but brylee girl on the other hand is all about the details... wonder where she gets that from??? :) well... we are all ironed and packed and ready for tomorrows BIG DAY! My prayer for my babies (and my hubby) is that they all have a wonderful year, learn a lot, and make great friends! Good Luck guys... this mama loves you all very much!!!!!!

The Lake Lately...

We had our last long weekend at the lake of the summer... insert sad face! We had a great time while we were there and did lots of fun stuff! The Eilers came over to see us and jackson got to wake board for us! He did awesome... he loved it!

Brylee's Cheer Camp

Brylee went to UCA Cheer Camp this summer with her cheer leading squad. They learned several cheers, chats, and dances. She had a great time and was so excited for us to come watch her at the Cheer Show Off!
