A Weekend with Wonderful Weather...

Anyone else getting spoiled with the beautiful weather we had this weekend? I'm lovin' it! I wish we could have spent more time outside but we were busy with indoor activities. Friday after school we headed to the ball park to enjoy the beautiful afternoon and get ready for baseball to start... i am so excited... i love me some baseball season! That evening i went to dinner and a movie with some friends. Saturday Jackson went with our church to participate in a program called to Damascus and Beyond. He seem to enjoy it and learned a lot. The rest of us stayed home, cleaned house, and sanded more sheet rock and built another closet. Did I mention that I am SOOO ready for the sheet rock dust to be GONE!!! Hopefully next weekend with be it for the sanding and we can start the fun stuff... painting and putting it back together! Saturday night we had our annual Sunday School Class Murder Mystery Dinner. It was a 1920's Chicago style murder... I forgot my camera :( but there were some good costumes. We had a great time, enjoying yummy Italian food, and a great time with our friends. We laughed until our sides hurt. It was a great time! Sunday we did the usual church and lunch and then Jackson had RA (royal ambassador) Racer Day at church. They have worked for the last couple of weeks on their derby cars in class on Wed. nights. Jackson had a great time even though his car did not win and did not come close. Needless to say next year he can build all he wants to in RA's but grandaddy will be helping him build another car that we will actually race. I guess you could say the first graders were the "new-bees" they did not know how it worked. I thought everyone would have "kid" made car... wrong! Well at least the ones that won were not kid made cars... so I guess you could say we will plan better next year. Thankfully Jackson is like his daddy and just happy to be there and happy for those who won and not like his momma who is competitive at tic tac toe... i don't take loosing well at all... and I did not like that our little car was PIT-I-FUL! We ended our weekend with a cookout at my parents house with my nannie and aunts and uncles. It was so nice just sitting outside this afternoon/evening munchin on snacks and grillin out. Too bad it is going to be rainy and cold AGAIN in a few days.... anyone else READY for spring????

  1. Believe it or not, last year, Eli's kid-made car won the RA races!!! He wasn't even there to race it himself, someone else raced it for him - maybe that is why it won :-)
