May 12, 2012: Flight and Downtown Disney

We flew out of Birmingham to Orlando on Saturday afternoon. Our flight left at 3:30pm; we scheduled a later flight because we thought we would have a baseball game that day but instead we played Friday night and did not have a game on Saturday. It did allow for us to have plenty of time to get everything done but it made for a long day since we were super excited and ready to get to Disney! 

We got to the airport in plenty of time. We were told to get there early since we were flying with kids and it might take a while to get through security. Jackson and Brylee were so excited because this was their first time to fly! 

Here we are checking our bags in with the sky cap at the airport!

 we made it through security and we are sitting outside the gate ready to board the plane...

 Jackson loved sitting there watching them load the plane and 

seeing the other planes taxi out to to take off and the ones coming in to land. 

 JP is ready for take off...

 We had a great flight. The kids love the peanuts, pretzels and drinks they were served. I was expecting them to be a little more nervous than they were surprisingly they thought it was no big deal. I was worried about the air pressure and their ears but we had gum so that was no big deal either. They just sat there and played their Ipods and enjoyed the whole experience. It was truly a walk in the park!

Once we landed in Orlando, we got our luggage and then went to get our rental car. That was the only thing that was not so fun b.c the line was rather long. We should have sent dad down there while we waited on the luggage but usually my dad just goes out to garage get in his rental car and drives off but they did not do it that way this time. Oh well... we all survived and got the van and headed to the hotel!

because EVERY MOM has one except me... 

they loved the automatic doors!!!!

It's the small things when were 9 and 7!!!

 After we went to the hotel to drop our bags we headed to downtown Disney to eat... by this time we were STARVING!!!!!

 We ate at Wolfgang Puck... we love their mac and cheese and pizzas. We had planned on walking around Downtown Disney after we ate but it was so windy and we did not have jackets and we were really tired so we headed back to the hotel to get some sleep so we could hit the parks the next day!
